# First December Films > Mumbai advertising film production house, founded in 2010 and one of the most awarded to come out of India, with more than 150 international creative awards including 10 Cannes Lions. It makes TVCs, brand films, digital campaigns and AI ad films for Indian and global brands and their agencies. First December Films was founded in Bangalore in 2010 by cinematographer Anup Kattukaran and his brother, director Atul Kattukaran. It is now based in Andheri West, Mumbai, and works with brands and agencies across India and internationally. The house runs a roster of nine directors rather than a single in-house voice, and takes films from first idea through to final grade. Its archive holds 165 films made over 16 years for more than 100 brands. The house also makes AI ad films and AI TVCs, directed end to end by its own directors through the same production pipeline as its live-action work and delivered as labelled, clean masters. Many briefs are best served by a hybrid film: shot first, then extended with AI. The two films the house is best known for are **Nike "Make Every Yard Count"** (2014, with JWT India, co-directed by Atul Kattukaran and Senthil Kumar), one continuous bowling action built frame by frame from 225,000 photographs of 1,440 young cricketers across India, which won a record 7 Cannes Lions for a single film, India's first 3 One Show Gold Pencils, 6 D&AD pencils and 5 Clios, including India's first Clio for Cinematography; and **"Beauty Tips by Reshma"** (2016, with Ogilvy & Mather Mumbai and Make Love Not Scars, fronted by acid attack survivor Reshma Qureshi), winner of the Cannes Glass Lion for Change and a Gold Lion in Film, a D&AD Impact White Pencil and a One Show Gold Pencil, and covered by the New York Times, the BBC, the Wall Street Journal and the Guardian. In 2017 the Cannes Lions Global Creativity Report named Atul Kattukaran one of the ten best TVC directors in the world; he remains the only Indian ever to appear on that list.
