WHY THIS ROLE EXISTS

  • Most of our 2026 films needed a post producer, and the work has been carried by one or two people
  • Post is where films slip quietly. We want one person who owns it on every film

THE JOB IN ONE LINE

  • You take each film from the last shoot day to the final masters, on time and to the director's standard

WHAT YOU'LL OWN

The post schedule

  • Build the post plan before the shoot: offline, CG, grade, online, sound, deliveries
  • Keep it current every day and flag any date at risk the day you see it

The studios and artists

  • Book and brief the editor, colourist, online artist, CG studio, music composer and sound studio
  • Hold them to the schedule and the budget

Feedback rounds

  • Log every round of agency and client feedback the day it arrives
  • Turn it into clear notes for each artist, and track every change until it's approved

Quality control

  • Check every output against the brief, the script, the legal supers and the brand guidelines before it leaves
  • Catch the spelling, the logo version and the sound level before the client does

Deliveries

  • Deliver every cut-down, aspect ratio, language version and format the media plan needs, named and archived properly
  • Keep the project archive clean, so any film can be reopened a year later

HOW WE WORK

  • Chase the last 5%. We only hire people who pursue excellence. Most work stops at good enough. The last 5%, the detail nobody asked for, is where our films are made
  • Move first. Start before you feel ready. A rough version today beats a perfect one next week
  • Lead with the answer. Be clear, give the context, then say what you need
  • Update before anyone asks. "Done", "doing it by [date]" or "stuck, here's my suggestion" are all fine. Silence never is
  • Plan for the obstacle. If X goes wrong, then Y, decided in advance
  • Show the number, not the story. Results over effort
  • Raise the hard thing early. Flag the risk on the day you see it

THIS ROLE IS FOR YOU IF YOU

  • Have run post on ad films with several vendors at once
  • Know editing, grading, online and sound well enough to brief them precisely
  • Love a clean tracker
  • Stay calm on the night before a release

THIS ROLE IS NOT FOR YOU IF YOU

  • Wait for the agency to chase you for a version
  • Approve an output you haven't watched end to end
  • Leave the archive for someone else

HOW WE'LL MEASURE YOU

  • Final masters delivered on the agreed date
  • Post spend against the post budget
  • Rejected deliveries: zero
  • Feedback rounds logged on the day they arrive: every one

WHAT YOU GET

  • A hot seat. We're setting up our processes right now, so your work shapes how they turn out
  • A real view of how a production company runs, from brief to delivery
  • You learn from the best in our system, and you help build it
  • A house with more than 150 international creative awards, Cannes Lions among them

THE DETAILS

  • Freelance. Paid per project or on a monthly retainer, agreed in writing before you start
  • Starts immediately, on live films
  • Mumbai, at our office in Andheri West and at the studios we work with

HOW TO APPLY

  • Apply with the form on this page
  • Share three films you post-produced, and tell us what went wrong on one of them and how you fixed it
  • Know someone who'd be great at this? Email their name and number to mail@1stdecember.com. Even one name helps
