Swami Anand Tirth
Swami Anand Tirth is a director working with First December Films. He directed Air India's 'There is an Air About India' (2026) with the creative agency McCann: a 102-second film with Vaibhav Sooryavanshi that travels from a childhood rooftop to a country of 140 crore people. He owned the story, the references, the rhythm and the key moments, and every shot came back to him to be judged on four things: is it authentic, does it carry feeling, does it look generated, and does the edit need it.
He is an artist filmmaker, born in India. He trained at the School of Visual Arts in New York and worked as a filmmaker in New York City. Before he turned to film and photography full time, he spent almost fourteen years at leading advertising agencies.
He is one half of Swami and Sheep, a filmmaking duo that sets out to blur the lines between film, art and photography. Their work spans narrative films, commercials and music videos, among them films for Lotus Organics and Lotus Botanicals, and 'Rig – A Brave New World'.
Much of his work builds a world of its own, in the literal and the figurative sense. He likes his sets larger than life, built to reveal a new reality.
